What makes a good egg?

Animal welfare

When you treat hens with the respect and kindness they deserve, they’ll do what they were created to do — lay nature’s perfect food. Well-cared-for hens are given the right to do hen stuff — congregate, exercise, roost, scratch and even fly short distances.

Nutrition

Hens fed an organic vegetarian diet lay eggs with slightly more protein than conventional hens. You can also buy premium eggs with enhanced Omega-3.

Safety

Cage-free eggs are safe because they come from hens who live in a controlled environment, safe from predators and unknown field bacteria.

Quality

High-quality eggs come from hens that have a higher quality of life. For example, hens that are cage-free, organic, pasture-raised or free-range.

It’s a simple carrier with 12 egg-shaped slots. Yet over the years in the hands of marketing experts, the egg carton has gotten confusing. That’s why we’re here to help you learn what you need to know and what you can ignore.
